Moderate to severe coastal flooding is expected in the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula today and tomorrow as the remnants of Hurricane Ida are predicted to bring wind gusts of up to 50 mph and up to 5 inches of rain.

The sustained storm will bring abnormally high tides between 7 and 10 p.m. Thursday night and about 12 hours later on Friday.

Virginia governer Tim Kaine declared a state of emergency Wednesday night. Read his message here - http://bit.ly/2i25ne
