Carter still missing

Reports are untrue that Reggie Carter was found dead, reported Major M.E. Sampson of the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office (MSO) on the afternoon of Wednesday June 6.

Carter’s sister Safonya Martin said on June 6 that police searched the well at Carter’s residence but did not recover a body.

Carter, 61, of Remlik, was reported missing by a family member on May 24.

According to police, Carter is described as a black male, 5’3” tall and weighing 125 pounds. According to police, Carter’s personal belongings and vehicle were found at his house. His cell phone was found but it was not working. There had been no activity on his cell phone since May 20, according to Verizon records.

Police said recently that Carter had been seen in Middlesex County on Monday, May 21.

Major Sampson reported this week the MSO is following up on leads and has sent information to law enforcement departments in surrounding jurisdictions.

Martin said donations are being accepted through the Reginald Carter, Help Find Reggie Fund at Sonabank in Urbanna.

Police are asking anyone with information to call the Middlesex Crime Line at (804) 758-5600.
